By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton has a new Fire Chief and he is a familiar face. Last night the Select Board unanimously chose Acting Fire Chief Gary Daugherty, Jr to be the new Chief, replacing William Miller who left last May to take over in Bellingham. At their meeting last night, the Select Board interviewed both Daughtery and John Ignatowitz who is the Acting Chief of the Pelham, New Hampshire Fire Department. Daugherty has been with the Hopkinton Fire department for 20 years. His father was Hopkinton’s Fire Chief from 1997 to 2009.
