FRANKLIN – Funeral arrangements have been announced for Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta, who was killed in the line of duty last week after being struck by a truck while responding to assist motorists along an icy stretch of Route 146.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, with his funeral service taking place at the same location on Thursday morning. Law enforcement agencies from across the region are expected to attend, and members of the public who wish to honor Officer LaPorta are encouraged to line the procession route, which officials say will be announced within the next day or so. Flags are being flown at half-staff in his honor.
