FRANKLIN – Power rates are set to drop slightly for residents participating in the Town of Franklin’s Community Choice Power Supply Program.

The Town has signed a new 36-month contract with First Point Power beginning next month. The new rate of $0.139 per kilowatt-hour for the standard product is down from the current $0.151 per kilowatt-hour under Dynegy Energy.

According to the Franklin Observer, the new First Point rate is about 10 percent lower than National Grid’s current Residential Basic Service rate and roughly 7 percent lower than Eversource’s Residential Basic rate.
