By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – We are learning more about why Franklin Director of Public Works Robert “Brutus” Cantoreggi was suddenly put on unpaid administrative leave last week. The Franklin Observer reports Cantoreggi has been ordered to pay a $15,000 penalty for violating the state’s conflict of interest law. A State Ethics Commission official says Cantoreggi admitted to accepting free ski trips from a water meter manufacturer. The conflict of interest law prohibits public employees from receiving anything worth more than $50.
