Franklin Public Schools Expands Project Lead the Way Programs with New Grant

Franklin, MA – Franklin Public Schools is set to expand its Project Lead the Way (PLTW) programs, bringing hands-on, applied learning and enhanced teacher professional development to students across all grade levels.

Officials announced that Franklin has secured additional grant funding from the One8 Foundation, allowing the district to introduce new applied curricular programming for students and educators from PreK through 12th grade. The expanded programs will focus on computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, enabling students to apply their learning to real-world problem-solving scenarios.

As part of this expansion, Franklin High School will launch a new Biomedical Science program, which will include coursework such as Human Body Systems to give students hands-on experience in the field.

School leaders emphasize that this initiative will equip students with valuable STEM skills and provide teachers with professional development opportunities to enhance instruction.
