FRANKLIN — Police are warning residents about a phishing scam involving fraudulent messages posing as the Town of Franklin.

Authorities say the messages appear convincing, often including the town’s logo and email addresses that look similar to official ones. The goal is to trick recipients into sending money or providing sensitive information.

Franklin Police remind residents that the town will never ask for payment through wire transfers and advise people to avoid clicking suspicious links.
