Franklin Police Officer James Lawrence to Retire After 37 Years of Service

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – A 37-year veteran of the Franklin Police Department will reportedly be retiring this week. Officer James Lawrence has served Franklin since he was hired in 1987. Retired police chief Lawrence Benedetto tells the Franklin Observer that Officer Lawrence is a gentleman and dedicated officer and has always been a team player. Officer Lawrence is also a member of the MetroLEC, which is a consortium of more than 46 police and sheriff departments which provides special support to other departments such as SWAT teams and drones.
