FRANKLIN – Visitors to downtown Franklin may notice a fresh new look atop the Franklin Historical Museum. The building’s cupola has been newly restored, marking the first significant work done on the structure in nearly a century.

The project was made possible through a $50,000 allocation by the Community Preservation Committee and completed by Winter Hill Construction, according to the Franklin Observer.

The building, originally constructed in 1842 as the Franklin Town Hall, is part of the Dean College National Historic District. Since 2010, it has served as the home of the Franklin Historical Museum.
