By MyFM’s Marissa Santos – On Thursday, September 12, 2024, the Franklin Food Pantry will host a free special event in honor of Hunger Action Month titled “Wasted Food, Hunger, and the Climate Emergency: How Food Recovery Helps.” The event will feature Liz Miller from Spoonfuls, a Massachusetts-based food recovery organization. Miller will discuss the impact of food recovery in combating both food insecurity and the climate crisis by collecting fresh, edible food that would otherwise be wasted and distributing it to social service agencies like The Pantry.
