By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Franklin Food Pantry says this year they distributed a record number of holiday meal kits to those in need. They say they did 275 holiday meal kits at Thanksgiving and 333 holiday meal kits for December holiday celebrations. And they say visits to The Pantry from September to December 2023 increased 42 percent vs. the same period last year.
The Pantry attributes the growing need to the continued high cost of food and housing, end of SNAP Emergency Allotments, and The Pantry’s increased visibility on Route 140.
