FRANKLIN — Longtime Franklin educator and community advocate Michael Walker-Jones has been honored with a 2026 Black Excellence Award.
The award was presented at the Massachusetts State House in recognition of Walker-Jones’ lifetime of public service. State Representative Jeff Roy nominated him for the honor.
According to the Franklin Observer, Roy highlighted Walker-Jones’ decades of leadership with the NAACP, his work with the Franklin Democratic Town Committee, and his efforts as a community speaker and podcaster.
