FRANKLIN — Franklin’s Deputy Police Chief has added a notable national credential to his law enforcement career. Deputy Chief James West has graduated from the 296th session of the FBI National Academy, a distinction earned by fewer than one percent of law enforcement officers nationwide.

West is the fourth officer in Franklin Police Department history to complete the program, which consists of three months of advanced training focused on communication, leadership, and physical fitness. Deputy Chief West has served in law enforcement since 1996 and has been with the Franklin Police Department since 2001.
