By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – With Franklin voters saying no this week to a $6.8 million tax override that would have largely closed gaps in the school district budget, officials are now getting ready to enact changes they had warned about in the nearly year-long runup to the vote which would have cost the average property tax payer around $550 dollars next year. With nearly 12,000 votes cast, the measure failed by around 230 votes. Previously announced changes include laying off about 40 teachers, cutting some AP Classes, cutting some music and art classes, hiking sports participation fees and raising bus use fees.
