FRANKLIN – Franklin is receiving $150,000 from the state to help keep its water clean. The funding comes as part of more than $104 million in low-interest loans and grants approved last week by the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust. The program, administered in partnership with MassDEP, helps communities upgrade or replace water infrastructure to protect groundwater, surface water resources, and drinking water quality.
Franklin’s award is an Asset Management Planning Grant, which supports the town’s work on existing drinking water, wastewater, or stormwater infrastructure. The goal is to ensure long-term system reliability and improve overall water safety for residents.
