FRANKLIN – Franklin Police have released information regarding wake and funeral services for Stephen LaPorta, the Uxbridge police officer who was killed in the line of duty last week.
Officer LaPorta’s wake will be held today from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church. Officials say street closures will be in effect beginning around 11:00 a.m. and lasting until approximately 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Mary’s Church, with additional road closures expected from about 9:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
Residents should anticipate a large law enforcement presence in the area surrounding St. Mary’s Church and the Franklin Town Common. Franklin Police encourage the public to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
