SOUTHBOROUGH – Southborough Police have confirmed that a Framingham resident was the kayaker who drowned Sunday afternoon in Crystal Pond.
Authorities say a witness on shore saw the kayak overturn and the victim disappear beneath the water before calling 911. A large search effort followed, involving Southborough Police, Fire and EMS, along with assistance from District 14 Fire, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and the Westborough Police Drone Unit. The victim’s body was recovered approximately three hours later. The incident remains under investigation.
