A former Hopkinton cop charged with sexually assaulting a child back when he was a School Resource Office will have to keep his GPS ankle bracelet on until his trial. The Hopkinton Independent reports on Wednesday former Deputy Police Chief John Porter was denied an appeal to remove the monitor by a Middlesex Superior Court judge who said it was a condition of his release, based in part on maintaining the safety of his accuser. The allegations against Porter stem from incidents in 2004 and 2005 involving a then 15 year old girl. His jury trial is scheduled to begin next May.
