BELLINGHAM — A former Bellingham Police sergeant has had his professional credentials reinstated following the dismissal of his criminal case.

Kevin Heenan had been arrested last summer in Rhode Island on charges including operating under the influence and possessing a loaded firearm in his vehicle. The criminal case was later dismissed and transferred to Veterans Treatment Court.

The Milford Daily News reports that the state’s Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission had suspended Heenan’s credentials but voted this week to reinstate them. Heenan resigned from the Bellingham Police Department in December.
