Fire has damaged a still-under-construction restaurant at Medway Plaza. No one was hurt in the Saturday night fire at Kawaii Sushi Asian Fusion, which will now have its opening delayed from September to October. The Fire Chief tells the Daily News the fire was accidental, when some rags wrapped in plastic and thrown in the trash spontaneously combusted. Last month another Medway Plaza business – Nail Perfection – suffered an electrical fire and has been closed since, but may reopen next month.
