FRANKLIN – A basement kitchen fire at the Dean College Campus Center is under investigation after breaking out around 5 p.m. Friday.
Franklin Firefighters quickly responded and brought in mutual aid from Bellingham, Medway, Norfolk, Plainville, and Wrentham to help reinforce the building’s fire suppression system.
Crews had the blaze under control within about 20 minutes, but remained on scene for several hours to check for any fire spread within the walls and to ventilate smoke from the building.
No students or staff were injured, and the rest of the Campus Center remained open and usable following the incident.
