An emergency order has been issued by a federal judge to keep immigration officials from transferring an 18-year-old Milford High student out of Massachusetts for 72 hours after he was detained on Saturday on his way to a volleyball practice. A spokesman for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that Marcelo Gomes Da Silva was detained by agents while driving his father’s car and that it was actually his father they wanted. ICE says the father, Joao Gomes-Pereira of Brazil, was wanted on allegations by local law enforcement. The teen has been here since he was five but ICE says since he is also here illegally, he will need to go before an immigration judge.
