HOLLISTON – The Town of Holliston is receiving a major infusion of federal funding to help modernize its downtown sewer system.
Town officials say Congressman James McGovern has secured just over $1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending to support the Town’s Revitalization Sewer Initiative Project. That funding comes on top of the $1.5 million grant awarded in November from the state’s Office of Economic Development, bringing total outside support for the project to more than $2.5 million.
Officials say the sewer system upgrades are a key piece of Holliston’s broader downtown revitalization efforts and are expected to help attract new businesses and additional economic development opportunities to the area.
