Fake speeding fines are just the latest scam that look like they’re coming from local police but are not. Medway Police say a Wrentham resident reported getting an email citing him for speeding and directing him to a fake on-line payment center. Massachusetts does not have speed enforcement cameras that send out automatic fines. Police officers must stop you, identify you, and issue you a citation at the time of the violation. And if you did have to pay it would come as certified mail not an email.
