GRAFTON — A Grafton resident was taken to the hospital following an early morning apartment fire on Wednesday.
The Grafton Fire Department responded just before 6 a.m. to a reported fire alarm at 5 Forest Lane, where firefighters found a fire in a first-floor apartment. Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread beyond the room where it started. During a search of the apartment, firefighters located the resident in bed, and that individual was transported to UMass Memorial for treatment. No one else was injured.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
