MILFORD – The Central Street Bridge in Milford remains closed as the town’s Highway Department works through several unexpected setbacks.
Officials say the project, originally expected to be completed by October 15, has been delayed due to material shortages, required engineering changes, and heavy rain.
More recently, the DOT-required membrane on the bridge deck failed testing, and the manufacturer is now developing a fix.
Once that issue is resolved, crews will be able to apply asphalt and begin paving, though the Highway Department says there is currently no firm date for completion.
