UXBRIDGE – Remembrances continue to flow throughout the community following the line-of-duty death of Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta, who was struck by a tractor-trailer along Route 146 while assisting another driver early Wednesday morning.
Before joining the Uxbridge Police Department, Officer LaPorta served with the Hopedale and Mendon police departments. The Milford Police Department has also confirmed that LaPorta began his law enforcement journey as a member of the Milford Police Explorer Program, marking the start of a career dedicated to public service.
The District Attorney’s Office says the circumstances surrounding the crash that claimed Officer LaPorta’s life remain under active investigation.
