MEDWAY – The second- and third-graders at Medway’s Burke-Memorial Elementary School have harvested the veggie crops they planted in collaboration with the Medway Community Farm. Sixteen classes each planted and cared for their own raised garden bed behind the school beginning in mid-September.

Last week, students proudly gathered their crops and held a food stand for families featuring kale, radishes, spinach, lettuce, kohlrabi, beets, scallions, and chard. Most of the produce was sold, and the remaining vegetables were donated to local food pantries, allowing the students to give back to the community while learning hands-on lessons about agriculture and service.
