PROVIDENCE, RI — Brown University has canceled all remaining classes and exams for the semester following Saturday’s mass shooting in which two students were killed and nine others wounded. Police say the shooting happened inside the university’s engineering building.
Authorities say a person of interest was taken into custody at a hotel in Coventry, about 20 miles from the crime scene. The individual in custody has been identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Erickson from Wisconsin. Investigators have not yet released any information about a possible motive for the shooting.
