The bridge that carries Mendon Road over the West River is closing today with no word on how long it will be closed. This after MassDOT said a bridge inspection noted significant items with its condition that require it to be closed. The primary detour route is Providence Road, Hartford Avenue in Uxbridge and Mendon, and Uxbridge Road / Hastings Street. The secondary detour is North Avenue in Mendon, which is Mendon Street in Upton, and Pleasant Street in Upton which is Quaker Street in Northbridge.
