By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Blackstone Police have a program to help maintain the safety of your loved ones who may have cognitive impairments. Police Chief Gregory Gilmore says you can fill out a form on their website that will go to all dispatchers and officers and help expedite the response to situations such as a child with autism or parent with dementia who goes missing. The program was sparked by the mom of a child with autism who went missing but was thankfully found. The form is not just for what they look like, but also for places they might go and if they have any particular things that calm them once they’re found.
