A Bellingham police sergeant has been placed on leave following his arrest in connection with a car crash. Bellingham Police Chief Ken Fitzgerald says Sgt. Kevin Heenan was arrested Thursday by police in Woonsocket for allegedly operating under the influence after hitting a parked car. He is also charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated. Fitzgerald says Heenan is on paid administrative leave while the incident goes through the courts. Heenan has been with Bellingham Police for ten years.
