Bellingham DPW Flushing Water Mains: Residents Warned of Potential Discoloration

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Bellingham Department of Public Works is doing water main flushing starting this week. They say you may experience discoloration or low pressure, both of which are normal and should clear up shortly. But, if you lose all pressure or have prolonged discoloration, contact the DPW. They also recommend you check the water before doing laundry. If rust stains get on your clothes, do not bleach them but instead ask for special rust removing detergent from the Town Clerk or DPW, which you can get at no charge.
