The Bellingham Department of Public Works is once again flushing water mains. DPW Director Jesse Riedle says that means you have some discoloration or low pressure, which is normal and should clear up shortly. If you lose all pressure or have prolonged discoloration, contact the DPW. They do recommend you check the water before doing laundry and if you do get rust stains on clothing do not bleach them. You can get special rust removing detergent from the DPW free of charge.
