The Upton Board of Health says Pratt Pond / Kiwanis Beach is closed until further notice because of algae bloom. They say once water testing indicates the pond has cleared, they will re-open the beach to the public. Earlier this week the Hopkinton Department of Public Health announced the Upper Reservoir of Hopkinton State Park had a bloom of algae that led to a notice for people and their pets to avoid contact with the water. Several beaches across the state are experiencing similar closures.
