SOUTHBOROUGH – The Massachusetts Attorney General has approved a zoning change passed by Southborough Town Meeting, paving the way for a planned Costco along Coslin Drive.

The zoning amendment, which was overwhelmingly approved by voters in October, required review by the Attorney General’s Office after a resident challenged it as “spot zoning.” However, the AG determined the change was not solely intended to benefit Costco, but rather served a broader community purpose.

According to The Community Advocate, the developer is aiming to have the new Costco location open by the summer of 2027.
