By MyFM’s Marissa Santos – The upcoming meeting of the 350 Mass Greater Franklin Node is scheduled for tonight, Thursday, January 18, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Calling all Franklin residents – your participation is encouraged!

This meeting offers a hybrid format, allowing attendees to join either in person at the First Universalist Society in Franklin (262 Chestnut Street) or virtually via Zoom. Here are the details for the Zoom option:

Special attention to Franklin residents: The agenda includes a discussion on sustainability plans for the Town of Franklin. Gino Carlucci, Chair of the Sustainability Subcommittee of the Franklin Master Plan Update Committee, will be present in person from 7:15 to 7:35 for an introductory discussion. This will pave the way for future public meetings where everyone can contribute input to the master plan and sustainability elements.

The rest of the meeting will focus on two key 350 Mass campaigns: Emissions Free Buildings and Make Polluters Pay. Learn more about these campaigns on our website.

The Emissions Free Buildings (EFB) campaign operates at municipal and statewide levels, advocating for renewable energy technologies to make buildings and homes emissions-free. Local action is promoted through projects like achieving energy efficiency, implementing Clean Green Schools, adopting new building codes, and opposing proposed gas pipelines.

The Greater Franklin Node covers 20 towns, and we want your input on potential Local Projects. Which projects make sense for your town? Who are the key players? How can local citizens get involved? This is your chance to contribute to climate action in your town.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Climate Weekly email and check our website for upcoming events.

We encourage your participation in Thursday’s meeting, maintaining our regular schedule of meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Note that this week’s meeting is a hybrid event, welcoming both in-person and Zoom attendees to facilitate an in-person discussion with Gino Carlucci and Franklin residents. If you have questions or agenda items, contact the Node coordinators at [email protected] and/or [email protected]. A reminder will be sent on Thursday. Join us and make a difference in 2024 for climate and energy challenges!
