Bellingham DPW Begins Annual Water Main Flushing—What Residents Should Know

SHARE NOW

The Bellingham Department of Public Works is starting to do their annual water main flushing. While flushing is happening, you may experience discoloration or low water pressure. They say this is normal and both conditions should clear up shortly. But if you lose all pressure or have prolonged discoloration, contact the Bellingham DPW. They also recommend you check the water before doing laundry. If rust stains appear on your clothing do not bleach them because bleach will set the stain and ruin the fabric. There is special rust removing detergent you can get from the Town Clerk or the DPW for free.
