Milford Regional Medical Center and UMass Memorial Medical Center are on the road to merging. In a statement released Wednesday following approval by the boards of both hospitals, Milford Regional President and CEO Ed Kelly said they have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent to explore affiliation. Kelly says the potential of being part of a larger organization offers MRMC the “stability and resources” to expand. Kelly calls it “early in the process” and says there will be no changes to patient care at this time.
