WHITINSVILLE — Young bowlers will soon have the opportunity to hit the lanes and develop their skills through a new Youth Candlepin Bowling League at Sparetime Recreation.
The league will be held on Saturdays at 9:15 a.m. and is open to children ages 7-17. Participants will be divided by age, with bowlers ages 7-10 competing in two strings and those ages 11-17 bowling three strings.
Registration costs $10 per week, which includes shoe rental, and every participant will receive a free T-shirt. The league will also feature on-lane instruction to help young bowlers improve their skills throughout the season.
The official start date has not yet been determined and will be announced once enough participants have registered. The final day of the league will include a pizza party and awards ceremony.
