The Worcester Bravehearts extended their hot stretch last night, clinching a dramatic extra‑innings victory over the New Britain Bees at Fitton Field. Riding momentum from back‑to‑back walk‑off wins against Vermont, the Bravehearts entered as favorites but faced stiff competition from the No. 4‑seeded Bees.

New Britain struck first in the second inning when Brandon Gaer delivered a run‑scoring single following a wild pitch. Worcester’s offense answered in the fifth, plating two runs on a pair of timely hits to seize a 2–1 lead. Yet errors and miscues knocked Worcester off balance in the ninth: Colin Crowley singled, and Camden Righi scored on a balk to tie the game 2–2.

Neither team scored in the tenth, setting the stage for a four‑round home run derby to decide the winner. Bravehearts slugger Cole Hambly rose to the occasion, launching three homers to New Britain’s zero and ending the contest in spectacular fashion. Hambly’s power display sealed Worcester’s third straight win and reinforced their hold on first place in the FCBL.

Tonight, the Bravehearts return to Fitton Field to open a key series against the third‑place Nashua Silver Knights. With their offense clicking and confidence sky-high, Worcester aims to extend its streak and further solidify its reputation as the league’s class of the summer.
