The Worcester Bravehearts closed their 2025 regular season with a record-breaking 45–21 mark, setting the Futures League standard for most wins in a single season. Built on explosive offense, leading the league in runs per game and home runs, Worcester entered the postseason as the team to beat.
But playoff baseball can be unforgiving. Facing the Norwich Sea Unicorns in the opening round, Worcester fell behind early, surrendering five runs in the fourth inning. A late rally that produced three runs in the eighth wasn’t enough, and the Bravehearts dropped the first game 8–4 in the double-elimination semifinal format.
In the rematch at Norwich, Worcester’s season hung in the balance. Tied 1–1 after nine innings in a tense pitchers’ duel, the game dragged into extras. Fans witnessed a marathon that stretched to the 14th inning before the Sea Unicorns delivered a walk-off blow, ending Worcester’s historic season stunningly.
While the early exit stung, the Bravehearts’ dominant summer remains a major achievement. With a potent lineup and proven depth, Worcester will enter next season as a clear favorite to contend again, this time to finish what they started.
