The Whitinsville Christian girls’ tennis team heads into the postseason on a high note, having wrapped up a strong regular season with a 12-4 record. The Crusaders earned the No. 28 seed in the Division 3 state bracket and opened their tournament run Monday afternoon with a commanding 5-0 sweep over No. 37 Pioneer Valley Christian. It was a dominant all-around performance, with Whitinsville showcasing the same depth and consistency that fueled their success throughout the season. From top singles to the second doubles court, the Crusaders controlled the match and never let momentum shift. Including Monday’s win, the Crusaders have now won six straight matches. That streak features a pivotal 3-2 victory over Notre Dame of Worcester last week, a clutch performance that highlighted their ability to win close, high-pressure contests. Depth has been one of Whitinsville’s defining strengths, with both singles and doubles units stepping up in big moments. After finishing 11-7 last spring, this year’s squad has shown clear growth and maturity across the lineup. Though they remain a lower seed, the Crusaders have built confidence and chemistry, and they’ll look to ride that momentum into the next round and beyond.
