Whitinsville Christian’s boys’ basketball team returned to the win column Wednesday night with a commanding performance against the AMSA Eagles, asserting control from the opening whistle and finishing with a convincing victory. The Crusaders, coming off a loss to David Prouty, looked composed and physical throughout, using a mix of interior presence and perimeter shooting to separate from AMSA.
Gabe Deters paced the effort with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, controlling the glass and providing easy scoring opportunities. Ethan Curry complemented that effort, finishing with 11 points, including a three-pointer and several timely baskets that maintained momentum. Whitinsville Christian’s balanced attack and defensive discipline limited AMSA’s second-chance looks and allowed the Crusaders to sustain pressure late in the game.
The win snaps a brief skid, Whitinsville had gone 1-3 over its last four after an early 9-1 start, and gives the program renewed confidence as it chases another late-season surge. The Crusaders travel to Southbridge tonight at 6:30 p.m., a rematch that follows a 65-37 victory two weeks ago in which Eamon Moloney scored 21 and sank nine three-pointers. Whitinsville will look to replicate the composure and depth it showed in recent games as it seeks to extend momentum into the final stretch of the season.
