Despite a 15-2 loss to a very strong Hopedale team last week, Whitinsville-Christian has shown flashes of the team they’re hoping to become. They were originally set to face Sutton again yesterday in a rematch that was postponed, a missed chance to gauge their progress. Instead, they’ll host Douglas today, a team they’ve already faced once, in what could be a momentum-building game. Douglas enters at 7-5, a solid opponent, but a winnable matchup if the Crusaders can stay aggressive at the plate. This stretch of the season will be critical, and a strong showing today could set the tone for a much-needed second-half surge.
