The Nipmuc baseball team has kicked off the spring season in impressive fashion. The Warriors boast a 2-0 record, outscoring their opponents 13-3, with their most recent triumph being a solid 9-2 victory over Sutton. Overall, the team has been hitting at a remarkable clip, maintaining a collective batting average of .360 through the first two games.

A key offensive spark has been sophomore Zach Duplessis, who leads the charge with a stunning .667 average, recording 3 RBIs and two doubles in his standout performances. Joining him on offense is Sean Burchard, who has maintained an impressive .600 average, contributing a vital home run and an RBI to the team’s efforts.

On the mound, Josh Giancola has emerged as the pitching leader. Delivering an 8-strikeout performance over just 3 innings, his efforts helped secure a crucial win for the Warriors. While the team is off to a remarkable start, there is room for improvement on defense. Currently, Nipmuc is fielding at .885 and has committed 6 errors early on in the season.
