Fresh off their first-ever Clark Tournament victory over Hopedale, the Uxbridge Spartans showed no signs of slowing down. In their D4 Preliminary matchup, they cruised past Excel Academy with a commanding 60-10 win.
Uxbridge delivered a balanced offensive performance, with contributions across the roster. Natalie Orr led the way with 14 points, while Lola Grube added 10. Bronwyn LaChapelle and Bailey Dzivasen chipped in 8 points each, and Emma Peloquin drained the team’s lone three-pointer on her way to 7 points. Bench players Ava Rosborough and Zooey Pominville combined for 9 points, highlighting the team’s depth. The Spartans also delivered a stifling defensive performance, holding the Wolves to 10 points and holding them scoreless in the 3rd quarter. This is nothing new for Uxbridge as they became known for their suffocating defensive style in the Clark Tournament.
With their offense firing on all cylinders and defense remaining stiff, the Spartans kept their momentum rolling from start to finish. Now, they turn their attention to the next challenge as they host No. 17 Hampshire Regional tomorrow at 6 p.m.
