Uxbridge’s golf team posted a convincing 196-236 victory over Oxford in a welcome bounce-back for the Spartans. Uxbridge had struggled earlier in the season and entered the match with a 4-8 mark, but consecutive wins have now put the squad on a short surge and provided a blueprint for how to compete.
This victory followed a three-match skid to Auburn, Whitinsville, and Douglas, but the Spartans used a balanced scoring day to claim a solid margin over Oxford. The win will serve as valuable momentum heading into a challenging matchup at Blissful Meadows Golf Club against Sutton High, who sit at 5-7 on the year.
For Uxbridge, the recent streak offers encouragement that the roster’s pieces can come together when it matters. Handling teams lower on the standings has been step one; now the Spartans will look to test themselves against stronger competition and try to string together a sustained run of wins. If they can bring the same composure and execution to the Sutton match, Uxbridge could extend its momentum further into the midseason.
