The Uxbridge Spartans field hockey team capped a historic season by being recognized for a championship run that placed the program among the best in the state. Uxbridge won its first D3 state title after completing an undefeated 23-0 season that included the playoffs, and the Spartans also posted a remarkable 36-0 goal differential in postseason play.
That kind of dominance did not happen by accident. Uxbridge has now won five straight state titles, with four coming at the D4 level before the Spartans made the jump to D3 and immediately claimed another championship. Their consistency and dominance over the past several years has set a standard that few programs can match, and this season only added to that legacy.
To celebrate the achievement, the field hockey team received plaques from MyFM partner Unibank honoring the undefeated season. The recognition is a fitting tribute for a group that played with confidence, discipline and skill throughout the year. Those plaques will now hang at Uxbridge High School as a reminder of the team’s accomplishment. With the core culture in place and success continuing to pile up, the Spartans should remain a force in Central Massachusetts field hockey for the foreseeable future.
