The Uxbridge Spartans earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Clinton on Monday, improving to 11-3-3 and snapping a brief run of mixed results. Uxbridge had dropped a tight 1-0 game to Auburn the prior Wednesday and played to a 5-5 draw with AMSA the previous Monday, so the win over Clinton was a meaningful reset.

Gabriel Gomes and Dawsen Levesque supplied the goals for Uxbridge, with Cameron Gray acting as the primary facilitator, credited with assists on both scores, and helping the Spartans close out a competitive contest. Clinton came into the match with an 8-7-2 record, so the victory carried weight against a capable opponent.

Uxbridge currently sits as the No. 15 seed in D4 boys soccer and will have an important regular-season finale against Millbury tomorrow. The Woolies have been strong this season at 10-2-5 and hold the No. 16 seed, so that matchup should be a true playoff preview and a final chance for Uxbridge to improve its standing.

Tune in tomorrow at 6 PM to see how the Spartans respond, a win could help Uxbridge leapfrog rivals and sharpen momentum heading into the postseason.
