The Uxbridge Spartans boys’ outdoor track team delivered a standout performance at last night’s SWCL championship, earning a well-deserved third-place finish among 10 competing schools. The Spartans amassed 80 points, trailing only Leicester and Grafton in the league standings. Their success was driven by a blend of standout individual efforts and solid team depth across multiple disciplines. Julian Rosenburg led the charge in the discus, launching his throw an impressive 143 feet, 4 inches to claim first place and set the early tone for Uxbridge’s scoring. In the explosive 4×100-meter relay, the quartet of Aidan Nolan, Thatcher Sweeney, Wilson Obiocha, and Jake Richardson combined raw speed and precise baton exchanges to cross the finish line in 44.92 seconds, outpacing seasoned relay squads and electrifying the home crowd. Junior Hunter Schiller added to the point total with a dominating shot-put performance, hurling the metal ball 45 feet, 1.5 inches for another first-place finish. Beyond these marquee events, Uxbridge athletes contributed in distance races, hurdles, and jumping events, consistently scoring in the top six to bolster the team tally. With momentum on their side, Uxbridge now looks ahead to sectional meets, eager to build on their league championship success and vie for higher honors.
